“It does not take a majority to prevail … but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.” — Samuel Adams
“Brushfires of freedom” — what a wonderful phrase. And to extend the metaphor, look at the fires in Colorado and how far, and how fast they spread, and with what effect!
The Western Forest Fires depended on the perfect combination of weather, years of drought and some unknown impetus, perhaps lightening, the “impetus of the gods.”
Maybe now is the perfect moment for our cause. The wind is blowing in a new direction and with a new force, and the preparation, the drought of discrimination, ignorance and apathy have prepared the fire ground. Now, the impetus.
Let me, let each of us, be a lighteningstrike to begin a brushfire of freedom that will scorch the earth!
