Community Coalition Announces Music Festival to Educate South LA Voters

In a drive to bring awareness of the various election issues this fall, Community Coalition, along with a number of other labor and community organizations are planning the South LA Summer Power Festival at Martin Luther King Park on Saturday August 25th from 4 to 9pm. The Park is located at 3916 South Western Avenue in Los Angeles. The event will focus on registering voters from South LA and also features music by Aloe Blacc, Las Cafeteras, Maya Jupiter, Mayaztec and Sunni Colon. There will also be workshops on immigration, disaster preparedness, and health.

On August 23, 2012, Uprising host interviewed Jesus Andrade and Leslie Cooper of Community Coalition about the event and election issues.
