A viral ad campaign has brought the face of domestic violence in Saudi Arabia to the forefront. In a country where domestic violence is not criminalised and women are bound by guardianship laws that prohibit them from leaving the house without the permission of their husband, many women are left stranded without any means of assistance. So, will this ad campaign push Saudi Arabia to establish a legal framework to protect victims of domestic abuse?
