Zimmerman’s Defense Goes on the Offensive
Who exactly is heard screaming on the 911 tapes? That is the pivotal question being asked this week during the trial of Florida shooter George Zimmerman. The Defense attorneys called to the stand more than 6 witnesses who asserted that Zimmerman was the one screaming on the fateful night of February 26, 2012 rather than his victim Trayvon Martin. The testimonies counter those of Martin’s parents who are convinced that the screams originated from the unarmed 17 year old during the fatal scuffle. The incident, when it first took place garnered international outrage. The on-going trial, which is being televised, has similarly dominated news headlines.
