City activities like farmers markets and “art-walks” are a mainstay of most Southern California municipalities, encouraging the mental and physical health and well-being of its residents.

The Westmont neighborhood of South Los Angeles, will finally enjoy it’s first ever Annual Art Walk this Saturday.

Organized by Community Coalition, the Art Walk will feature artists and vendors, and an art competition on the topic of “citizenship.”

The Fight to Preserve Whittier Hills

The natural space that Los Angeles voters twice passed bond measures to “permanently protect” has become the subject of an ugly battle in Whittier between oil developers, City Council members, government agencies and conservation groups.
