Palestinian Festival in So Cal Educates Through Film, Music, Dance, and Visual Art
The latest round of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks overseen by US Secretary of State John Kerry are continuing despite frequent roadblocks. At last week’s UN General Assembly meeting, Kerry affirmed that he was seeking a final solution to the conflict, not an interim one.
Any examination of the disagreements between the occupier and the occupied in a war that has lasted decades can be a depressing exercise. However, many see hope for the future through art and this week in Southern California, an unusual film festival aims to bring to light the Middle East conflict through film as well as live theater, music performances and visual art.
The week-long festival is presented by, among other groups, the Levantine Cultural Center and is sponsored by KPFK.
