Representing Arizona’s third Congressional District, Raul Grijalva is a progressive in a state that is known for its conservative politics.

Having served in the US House of Representatives for more than a decade, he is a stalwart progressive, co-chairing the Congressional Progressive Caucus with Rep. Keith Ellison.

A strong proponent of comprehensive immigration reform, Grijalva opposed the 2010 Arizona law known as SB 1070.

As an environmentalist he has pushed for greater protection of national parks and forests, and as someone in favor of gun control he has spoken alongside former Arizona fellow representative Gabrielle Giffords who survived a mass shooting.

Grijalva has also co-authored a progressive federal budget plan called the Better Off Budget, and pushed for a single-payer healthcare plan.
