Britain’s political landscape has just had a serious political shakeup that has revived that nation’s left. In party elections over the weekend, the Labour Party handed a victory over to Jeremy Corbyn, a staunch leftist leader. Corbyn, who proudly identifies as a socialist, won the party vote with a landslide 60%.
The New York Times described him as, “consistent and sincere, a professed man of the ‘hard left’ who believes that the Labour Party must return to its roots in the working class and fight inequality in all its forms. He is a sharp critic of American foreign policy and of Israel; he wants Britain to abandon its nuclear deterrent and has favored quitting NATO.”
Corbyn’s victory has energized the Labour Party, which, as its name suggests, is rooted in promoting the right of working class people. British Prime Minister David Cameron who leads the Conservative Party responded to Corbyn’s win saying, “Labour are now a serious risk to our nation’s security, our economy’s security and your family’s security.”
My guest Chris Hedges has asked ‘Where is our Jeremy Corbyn?’ to which many may reply, ‘We’ve got Bernie Sanders!’ Joining me to explain why he thinks Bernie Sanders is no Jeremy Corbyn is Chris Hedges himself.

I love Chris and I think he is right about Bernie, but Bernie does talk about the Military Industrial Complex in this short clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGv2SPB8pNU
I would very much hear how Hedges thinks about Larry Lessig and his run for the Presidency. Perhaps a combination of Lessig and Bernie would work out – since we all know that Bernie has a better chance than Jill Stein in being elected in the US
