Canadians went to the polls on Monday and gave a stunning majority victory to the Liberal Party, ending a decade of conservative rule under Prime Minister Stephen Harper. With 338 seats in Parliament, Liberal Party head Justin Trudeau is the new Prime Minister. IF his name sounds familiar, it is because he is the son of the late Pierre Trudeau’s Canada’s popular former leader who ruled for 16 years, from 1968 to 1984. The telegenic younger Trudeau, who is only 43 years old, has promised a return to liberalism.
