Campus activism against racist policies has escalated and spread ever since the University of Missouri President Tim Wolfe stepped down last week. Wolfe resigned after black student group-led protests were strengthened by the solidarity of African American athletes.

At Yale University, students of color led marches and made demands to president Peter Salovey. Among them was a call to, “implement immediate and lasting policies that will reduce the intolerable racism that students of color experience on campus every day.” Yale was followed by Ithaca College in New York, and Claremont College (where a Dean stepped down), and Occidental College in Southern California.

*CLARIFICATION: Luna Olavarria Gallegos wants to clarify that while she is an alum of Ithaca College, having attended the college last school year, she is not a graduate of Ithaca College.
