GUEST: Adam Shapiro, long-time activist, who with his wife Huwaida Arraf, and two young children, is in Chios, Greece, aiding refugees, volunteering with a Norwegian group called ‘A Drop In The Ocean’.

Greece has just announced new legislation to set up screening centers for migrants in various parts of the country in order to ease the pressure from the influx of refugees. While the story of the refugee crisis has waned somewhat in the media, the problem continues.

Thousands of refugees from countries like Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan continue to enter Europe, fleeing horrendous conditions of war and violence. Most are whole families. Many have small children.

The US and Europe have not helped much by stepping up their bombing campaign against the Islamic State in Syria, only adding to the violence.
