President Obama is visiting Detroit for an auto-show this week. But he will be getting more than just an eyeful of car parts. Teachers from the struggling city’s public school system are planning a major protest. Most of them have called in sick prompting the shut down of schools. And it’s not the first time they’ve organized a “sick-out.” Detroit’s schools are struggling so badly that teachers can’t bear to go on. They’ve launched a social media campaign, tweeting ghastly photos of dilapidated schools showing bullet holes in walls and even indoor fungus infestations.
