After the Iowa caucuses, all eyes are on New Hampshire, the next Primary election race. While Bernie Sanders is set to win there as per his huge lead in poll numbers over his rival Hillary Clinton, the major battle after that is in South Carolina. There, unlike the mostly white populations in Iowa and New Hampshire, Sanders has to contend with his weakest point – an inability to attract black voters.

Despite running as a candidate with the Democratic Party, which has heavily relied on the loyalty of African Americans, Sanders has to figure out how to convince voters that he would be a better advocate for them than Clinton. Clinton is benefitting from the reputation of her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and his masterful ability to woo African Americans. But do the Clintons deserve all the love they get from the black community? Joining me to explore that history and also what Barack Obama’s strategy was in 2008 to beat Clinton.
