UCSD Racist Party Sparks Black Outrage, White Backlash
Racial tensions continue to rise on the campus of UC San Diego after a noose was found hanging from a bookshelf of one of the school’s main libraries on Thursday. A female student came forward and claimed responsibility for the act that prompted demonstrations the following day, culminating in a student takeover of the Chancellor’s office for several hours. The latest incident follows the notorious so-called “Compton Cookout” party hosted by numerous fraternities a few weeks ago that mocked Black History Month. A Facebook invitation encouraged party-goers to dress up and behave in accordance with offensive stereotypes. Women, for example, were urged to show up as ‘ghetto chicks’ which to the organizers of the off-campus party entailed wearing gold teeth and cheap clothes while starting fights. Upon the news of the “Compton Cookout,” backlash was immediate. UCSD’s Black Student Union drew attention to the lack of African-American enrollment on campus and called for improvements of conditions for minority students. Calls for disciplinary actions to be taken against those involved in the party were met with promises of an investigation. But temperaments were once more inflamed following the initial uproar after a student run TV show defended the racist party on air and used the N-word to describe its detractors. A racial state of emergency was called on campus and administrators were presented with a list of thirty-two demands including the creation of a safe space on campus for its African-American students.

Instead of an apology there has been steady escalation and now the noose. So, what exactly will the excuses be for this cowardly act that brings up memories of the confederate KKK of the South in their attempts to keep slavery and the non-whites in fear? Is it that are uneducated, is it that their parents planted these seeds of hate, is it that they are live in fear because our President in the white house is not 100% white. This is what the republican party of “birthers, baggers and blowhards” have brought you. These kids follow what their dullard leaders say, they listen to Beck, Hedgecock, Hannity, O’Reilly, Rush and Savage and the rest of the Blowhards, they are young and dumb. Are you surprise at what they do when you know what they think?
This comment is unfair as there’s no evidence that these college kids are Republicans or listen to Beck, Hedgecock, Hannity, O’Reilly, Rush and Savage.
The Republican party was founded in Rippon, Wisconsin, under the anti-slavery platform. A Republican president outlawed slavery. More Republicans voted for the first Civil Rights Act than Democrats. And a Republican president created the Martin Luther King Day holiday. In fact, right now there is only one former Ku Klux Klan member in the Senate, Democrat Robert Byrd.
Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about
