Freedom Next TimeGuests: Tammy Bang Luu, organizer with the Labor Community Planner Center which sits on the National Planning Committee for the US Social Forum, Alice Lovelace, well-known Atlanta based poet and National Lead Organizer of the USSF

As the US Social Forum wrapped up yesterday, the 10,000 or so activists gathered at the largest progressive gathering in recent US history, began packing up. The attendees were from all over the North and South American continents. Well known Canadian activist Judy Rebick described the demographics at the USSF as including: “Poor people, people of colour, queer and transgendered people, indigenous people, workers, women and a remarkable majority of young people.” Rebick added, “I’ve never seen a more diverse crowd whether from the perspective of colour, age or class. And from the workshops I’ve attended so far, they are almost all deeply involved in community organizing.”
