UK Collective D-Fuse Showcases Work on Cities and Migration At USC Event

Endless CitiesAmong the statistics harvested from the 2010 Census data, are the changing demographic of American cities. Researchers at the University of Nevada have concluded that as a result of the economic recession and the subsequent decrease in immigration, American urban spaces have seen stagnation or even decline. Yet, in cities around the world, the economic drivers of migration to big cities are still going strong. In a video exploration of urban landscapes, the UK-based media collective D-Fuse, examine the effects of migration into cities. Juxtaposing footage from some of the most populous metropolitan centers in East Asia and the Pacific Rim, the work, entitled Endless Cities, combines music, imagery, and print. Endless Cities is part of a multi-media event taking place at the USC campus tonight called Rhythms and Visions. Members of D-Fuse are in Los Angeles for the event.
