The Food Revolution Takes Hold in Venezuela
GUEST:Miguel Angel Nuñez, Advisor to the Venezuelan Presidential Office on Agro-Enviromental issue
Miguel Angel Nuñez is an advisor to the Venezuelan Presidential Office on Agro-Environmental issues and the former coordinator of the Latin American Agro-Ecological Movement. He was recently in LA, and sat down in our studios to talk about the food revolution as a part of Venezuela’s evolving participatory democracy. Among other things, we discussed the green revolution and its legacies, farmer’s knowledge and how it can be incorporated into new models, and the threat posed by bio-fuels. Nuñez began by explaining his desire to make food an issue within Venezuela’s current political process.
