Who Will Win Pennsylvania?
| the entire program
GUEST: Robert Borosage, Co-Director of Campaign for America’s Future
A comment made by presidential candidate Barack Obama at a fundraiser in San Francisco, has apparently eroded his support among rural white voters in Pennsylvania. Obama said that small-town Americans were driven to guns and religion over frustration with the government. Voters in the populous north-eastern state go to the polls tomorrow to pick a Democratic nominee for this year’s presidential race. Last week’s debate between Obama and his rival Hillary Clinton in Philadelphia, put the Illinois Senator on the defensive regarding the now-infamous remarks that his pastor made, criticizing US policy. A new Gallup poll shows Obama’s lead over Clinton having disappeared with Clinton now pushing a 1 percent lead. The poll was conducted two days after last week’s debate. Pennsylvania is seen as critical in deciding the outcome of the increasingly bitter Democratic nomination race. In the lead up to the vote, Clinton and Obama are going on the offensive with Obama outspending Clinton 2-1 in TV ads while Clinton is attacking Obama’s health care plan.
One Response to “Who Will Win Pennsylvania?”
A more pertinent question might be: “Who cares?” Both of these Empire Managers have astonishingly regressive records on all the issues so-called progressives claim to care about.
