Nat Turner’s Rebellion by Subversive Historian Gabriel San Roman
One-hundred and seventy-seven years ago on this day in people’s history, Nat Turner’s slave rebellion took place in Virginia. On August 22nd, 1831, Turner and seven other slaves entered the home of his slave master and killed the entire family. Believing that god had directed him through visions to free slaves,Turner’s rebellion swelled to seventy or so free and enslaved blacks who attacked plantation to plantation killing upwards to fifty-five white people. The rebellion would only last a few days before being put down and Turner escaped for a few months before being captured, hanged and skinned. In response to his rebellion, white mobs unleashed violence on blacks killing nearly two hundred many of whom had no connection to the rebellion.
And now for the stupid question of the day: Were members of the white mobs hanged and skinned? Of course not…
For Uprising, this is your truth professa saying it’s no mystery why they conceal our history!
