What Mitt Romney Thinks of Ordinary Americans (and Palestinians) in Private
It has been a tough week for Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney with secret videos revealing what he really thinks when addressing sections of his base in private. In response to Mother Jones’ explosive undercover video revealing Romney’s contempt for 47% of Americans who he says are dependent on government and will vote for Obama no matter what, President Obama shot back this morning saying “you have to work for everyone, not just for some.”
Also from the same fundraiser in May, Mother Jones published video taped comments Romney made about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that revealed his opinion of Palestinians as having “no interest whatsoever in establishing peace.”
As if to make matters worse, both videos were taken at a private fundraiser for Mitt Romney in May of this year hosted by a hedge fund manager named Mark Leder known as much for his failures in the private equity industry as for his penchant for so-called “sex parties.”
Mitt Romney responded to the section of the secret video concerning his 47% remark by essentially defending it. He said “It doesn’t capture the question, so I don’t know precisely what was asked, but I think it was about my campaign and how I’d be able to get the majority of voters to support me.” He did add that he was speaking off the cuff and that his words were not “elegantly stated.”

“I loved Michelle Obama’s line in her speech: ‘A presidency reveals who you are.’ So do campaigns. And mark me down as one Republican not happy with what is being revealed about Mitt Romney.
