April 10th Actions
GUEST: Xiomara Corpeno, an organizing director of the Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights in Los Angeles or CHIRLA
Today marks a national day of action for immigrant rights. Coming a day after about half-a-million people gathered in Dallas, Texas and San Diego’s Gran Marcha saw an estimated 50,000 demonstrators, historic mobilizations for immigrant rights continue in Washington D.C. and throughout the nation. Broad coalitions of immigrant rights, labor, and civil rights organizations continue to voice their opposition to HR4437 and demand fair and comprehensive immigration reform. Locally, candlelight vigils, processions and marches will take place in various cities such as Santa Ana, San Fernando and Los Angeles.
