Taliban gunmen break hundreds of prisoners from a Pakistan jail this morning. Good morning and welcome to Uprising. The jail break in Pakistan was conducted, according to news reports, “with military precision.” According to Reuters, it “showed the ability of the al Qaeda-linked Pakistani Taliban to strike at the heart of Pakistan’s heavily guarded prison system and walk away with dozens of senior Taliban fighters and commanders.”
President Obama will be making a policy speech today in Chattanooga, Tennessee calling for a so-called “Grand Bargain” with Republicans on job creation, business taxation and other issues.
JP Morgan Chase is being fined $410 million for allegedly manipulating energy markets in California and Michigan between the years 2010 and 2012. It is the largest fine that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has ever made a company pay.
