Frank Tamborello on Food Stamp Cuts and What You Can Do About It
Nearly 50 million Americans saw cuts to their food stamps on November 1, 2013 after the automatic end of a phase of stimulus spending. Californian families on food stamps will now receive about $36 a month less than they used to.
But that’s not all – Congress wants to force even more cuts to the federal food assistance program. The Republican dominated House has already passed a bill that would push 2 million Americans off the program. The Senate has also approved cuts but on a smaller scale.
Uprising host Sonali Kolhatkar interviewed Frank Tamborello, Executive Director of Hunger Action LA about the story.
