Why Sen. Dianne Feinstein is Big Brother’s Loyal Sister
As new revelations of government overreach continue to emerge from the trove of NSA documents leaked by Edward Snowden it is difficult to anticipate what previously sanctified protections we took for granted have been newly violated. This week we learned that it’s not just the NSA but even the CIA and the private telecommunications company AT&T are involved. Government officials told the New York Times that the CIA pays $10 million of our tax dollars to AT&T in exchange for information on its US customer base.
Meanwhile many of our elected representatives seem not too concerned about the violations of our rights. In fact California Senator Dianne Feinstein has gone as far as to defend the government’s spying activities, citing the 9-11 terror attacks as justification.
Now, activist and writer Norman Solomon has had enough. Calling Feinstein “Big Brother’s Loyal Sister,” he accuses her of “methodically stabbing civil liberties in the back.”
GUEST: Norman Solomon, Co-founder of RootsAction.org, Founding director of the Institute for Public Accuracy, Longtime activist, and author of several books include “War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death”
