Hi, I’m Amy Goodman host of Democracy Now, asking you to support an important new collaboration between Pacifica Radio’s KPFK in Los Angeles and Free Speech TV, one of the first outlets to carry Democracy Now on television.

Free Speech TV would like to begin airing KPFK’s Uprising, a daily show at KPFK hosted by my colleague Sonali Kolhatkar. To do that KPFK has launched an exciting Indiegogo crowd funding campaign to acquire the video recording and editing equipment that it will take to turn uprising from a radio show into a television program.

Sonali Kolhatkar has for years hosted Uprising one of the most compelling programs airing today. She’s a journalist with a passion for the truth, committed to bringing out the voices that are too often ignored by the elite corporate media.

A healthy democracy needs a strong independent media.
