Mumia Abu Jamal: The Divine Ruby Dee
Acclaimed actress, poet, writer and activist Ruby Dee died yesterday at the age of 91. While her best known role was in the 1961 film, Raisin in the Sun, she was also a powerful civil rights activist, working alongside her husband Ossie Davis. Dee was actively involved in the Congress of Racial Equality or CORE, the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee or SNCC and the NAACP. Born in 1922, Dee helped pave the way for African American actors throughout her long illustrious career.

Yesterday I watched a documentary about this man Mumia, I am saddened that I never knew of him. why aren’t we taught about people like this? I am so in awe of the positive that this man has done in his darkest of hours. amazing story and man, I am Blessed to hear your story, and I will add you to my prayers. I am encouraged to fight the good fight in this life that is dealt to so many of us, people keep your head up .there are people in worse situations and do amazing things.
