New Video Features Black-Palestinian Solidarity
GUEST: Kristian Davis-Bailey, a Detroit-based freelance writer, graduate of Stanford University. His work has appeared on Ebony.com, Colorlines, and Truth-Out.
A group of visionary activists have just released a new video featuring Cornel West, Alice Walker, Angela Davis and many others to draw the links between Palestinian and African American communities.
The soundtrack played is a new video just produced by Noura Erakat, featuring a group of about 60 visionary thinkers, activists, and celebrities. It attempts to draw similarities between Black and Palestinian struggles for freedom and self-determination in the face of state repression. Joining me to discuss the video and the campaign that it is promoting is one of the co-writers of the video’s script.
On Monday’s show, we’ll hear from another of the co-writers of the script for the video who was also one of the narrators, Remi Kanazi. He is a poet and we’ll be discussing his book Before the Next Bomb Drops.
