GUEST: Diane Roark, former intelligence professional who spent 7 years on the staff of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and prior to that served on the National Security Council Staff, in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and in the Intelligence section of the International division of the Department of Energy. She just wrote an article entitled, Classified Politics: A System and a Clinton in Disrepute.

Democratic Presidential candidate and former State Secretary Hillary Clinton was once more asked to testify in front of a Congressional Committee last Thursday. The hearing was in front of the House Select Committee on Benghazi and centered on the fatal attack on the US Embassy in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012 when Ambassador J. Christopher Stephens was killed alongside several others. There have now been a total of 7 hearings – two in the Senate and five in the House, and none have found clear cut evidence of wrong-doing.

(Libya is of course, in chaos, as it struggles with the aftermath that the US-led NATO war unleashed. But, no one’s talking about that on Capitol Hill.)

As Clinton attempts to win voters to catapult her into the White House, it is worth discussing what, if any, responsibility she bears for overseeing failed security measures as Secretary of State.
