President Obama on Sunday evening addressed the nation live from the Oval Office. His speech was prompted by the recent massacre of 14 people in San Bernardino, California. During his speech he touched upon a number of issues, including the US’s strategy against the Islamic State. Obama discussed it in terms of “taking out” terrorists. He also urged people to resist demonizing the American Muslims, while claiming that “an extremist ideology has spread within some Muslim communities.”

The President raised Congress’ reticence to regulate guns, and promised to make it harder for immigrants to obtain visa waivers.
