Donald Trump’s racist language is having an unexpected outcome. Immigrants who qualify for citizenship are seeing a greater incentive than ever before to naturalize and obtain their citizenship before November’s general election. Latino advocacy groups in a number of states are shepherding qualified immigrants through the naturalization process and in some cases, even offering financial aid to cover the costs of applying.

According to an article in the Guardian about it, “Donald Trump’s scathing rhetoric about Latin American immigrants is galvanizing a movement in the community to pursue American citizenship and register in key battleground states.”

One of those states, Nevada, will be the site of a Las Vegas immigration clinic which 300 people are expected to attend.
