The crisis of poisoned water in Flint, Michigan, has highlighted a serious problem with national implications – that our water infrastructure is, in general, crumbling. It’s not just Flint’s water pipes that are aging. The American Society of Civil Engineers’ latest report on national infrastructure in the US, gave the nation a “D” on drinking water. The report ominously warns that, “much of our drinking water infrastructure is nearing the end of its useful life.”
