GUESTS: Rex Rude, year-round programmer for Outfest, Alex Hinton director of “Pick Up the Mic”

Outfest 2006 presents the 24th annual Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. From July 6th through July 17th, the city’s oldest continuous film festival will be presenting over 200 films and videos from 25 countries in 10 different venues. Events and film screenings will take place in various locations throughout Los Angeles, including West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Silver Lake, and Los Feliz. Some of this year’s festival highlights include international films from across the globe, a spotlight on new directors, and documentaries on the underground queer hip-hop scene. Since 1982, Outfest has presented more than 4,000 films for well over half a million people.
