Seeking a Progressive Path to the Prophetic Voice – Part 2
Yesterday we played you part 1 of an exclusive interview with Robert Jensen about his new book, “All My Bones Shake: Seeking a Progressive Path to the Prophetic Voice.” The book, to be released on June 1st, chronicles Jensen’s path back into the church – albeit a progressive Presbyterian one, St. Andrews in Austin, Texas. Describing himself as a Christian atheist, Jensen spoke yesterday about the reasons why he decided to join the church, and his political activism in the context of the church. In part 2 of the interview we’ll hear more about his decision to rediscover religion, and what the prophetic voice means.
GUEST: Robert Jensen, Professor of Journalism at the University of Texas at Austin, author of several books including Citizens of the Empire: The Struggle to Claim Our Humanity, Getting Off: Pornography and the End of Masculinity, and The Heart of Whiteness: Confronting Race, Racism and White Privilege
